Story Behind The Song
My Brother, who is now 53, injured both his knees (at different times) when he was in Jr. High School. He was great at all sports but he couldn't play because of his knees. He tried everything but surgery and nothing has worked. Today he can hardly bend his knees and is in alot of pain. His insurance feels this is pre-existing and they won't pay for surgery. I wish I had the $ to give him so I hope to win the lottery to pay for new knees. Bill

Lyrics
Verse 1
He was good I mean really, really good at every sport he played
when we were young we were always outside as long as the sun stayed
in Jr. High he hurt his knees, the crutches slowed him down
he would heal then get hurt again, the crutches were alwaays around
Verse 2
All thru High School he couldn't play, he kept score at every game
he'd try to play then tweak the knees, the outcome was still the same
he used braces and weights, he tried to get strong, they simply didn't work
thru the years he tried it all but he couldn't lose the hurt
Chorus
It may seem strange I pray to God that I win the lottery
I'd like to ease my brother's pain, it's just 25 grand per knee
the agony he lives each day, you can hear it in his talk
I'd like to see that pain-free day, watching Jimmy walk
Bridge
It hurts inside when I see the pain on his face
with surgery you can see he'll be pickin up the pace.
Verse 3
The years fly by , the big 50, his knees will hardly bend
the stairs he climbs to end the day, the pain it never ends
what can I do I ask of you, he's helped me through the years to see him walk without the pain would surely bring my tears.
Chorus
