Fun Outside (Instrumental)

Story Behind The Song

Late night messin' with an idea. Not a great recording, but the feeling is there.

Song Description

Short jazz/fusion piece. Pretty loose and a not the best performance.

Song Length 2:23 Genre Jazz - Fusion
Tempo Medium (111 - 130) Lead Vocal Instrumental
Mood Restless

Very nice production! The instrumental was arranged quiet well and the tracks flowed. I was particularly impressed with the guitar parts. I am honestly not schooled on Jazz-Fusion technically, but can certainly comment on the quality of this artist's production. Enjoyed it very much!

Overall sound quality, instrumentation and mix balance was good. The intended vibe reminded me of Scofield's Blue Matter album.

nice solid keep it up

This intro grabs you. Progressive jazz quartet, dr, bs, 2 gtrs, technically skillful instrumental skills in evidence, harmonically bold. Thematic material established as a sort of head which then takes off.... Certainly much promise in this brief presentation, of which the fading outro offers a further clue.

I hear a bit of John Scofield as an influence.

Very unique and well played piece that would be great in a lounge atmosphere.

This is sort of a Metheny on the Street Corner with a beat box jam. Nice funky, free flowing jazz jam.

I really like the originality of the song, and the guitarist is awesome!

Very cool vibe you've established here. Great instrumentation.

Like the interaction between piano and guitar with a subtle but effective percussion. good melody and licks

Fun listen. Nice guitar playing!

It reminded me of on broadway, it was fun, sunny and upbeat. I liked the use of different instruments. It is a fun song with a modern jazzy vibe.

This is an excellent composition. I hope you take this as a compliment, but I definitely hear elements of Pat Metheny in the guitar playing. The harmonizations are nice and groove is quite nice. Good dynamics, and good feel.

Instrumentation and arranging was good!

Can use a little eq-ing.

More bop than fusion, but that's fine by me. Thanks for not compressing the life out of the drums. Performances were ok, but the song could have use a stronger melody to jam around. Loved that it was only 2:22 - you said what you wanted to say, and you said it.

nice - and quite adventurous, I fully approve of your approach Credit where credit is due - this is jazz!

I love the sound and this style of music, reminds me of Mike Stern or Larry Carlton. Nice soloing. I like the build up, bass waiting for the third time to come in was nice. Good drum fills and accompaniment around 1:40.

Yeah Daddy-O, like this is swinging.

Nice solos, and nice feel.

quite cool almost retro jazz sound, i liked it, guitar is well done, jazz "melody" well vibed. percussion/drums well done.

Great job on this song. Loved it from the beginning to the end.

I liked it, thanks! Sweet intro, liked the contrast to when the guitar comes in. I also like that it has a subtle head bobbin groove that you can't quite put a finger on. It drew me in and along on a nice little sonic journey. Other pieces I've heard of this genre often strike me as random flailing of arpeggios but not so here.

Great tune!! Nice performance.
