Story Behind The Song

This song was written during the height of the Syrian refugee crisis. A song to inspire people to step forward and help. I am the child of parents who were sponsored to come to North America for education. A couple sponsored my mother to come from Zimbabwe for her college education. They put her thru school, lived with her during the summers, and gave her away at my parents wedding. Without that couple who sponsored my parents - I wouldn't exist. I see the parallels between my story and the potential for people to impact Syrian families the same way.
