Thrasher Boy

Story Behind The Song

story behind the song This song was inspired by my little brother who is an avid snowboarder.  At 19 years old, I watch as all the girls throw their young hearts his way and all he cares about is the thrill of living that snowboarder lifestyle. Get up in the morning, tell his girl he loves her, goes out boarding all day, she's there waiting until evening for his return, and then it happens all over again, the next day. You can tell who it is that these snowboarders really care about, the bosom of white mountains.

Song Description

long description Thrasher's girl  realizes that she comes in second to his true love of snowboarding. They are vacationing together in the Colorado mountains, where Thrasher gets his name. The energy  of the song comes from the passion of a the snowboarder himself and the longing of the girl. You hear the love story and the freedom of  a young man who is seduced by the experience of his favorite sport. The song builds musically and then flies downhill (with the ride and a poor girl's heart).

Lyrics

You're out flying downhill
This love is your spill
You pick yourself up and walk out the door
Out to white mountains
Just like the day before

Climbing heights for the record
You think I would have known better
It's certain you'll have a great break
Cross over great lakes

And you just keep letting me sit here
Surrounded with all of your snowboarding gear
Forgive my selfishness
I miss you, Thrasher Colorado

Don't think I'll ever get you

You're a wild one, thrasher boy

You pick yourself up and walk out the door
Out to white mountains
Just like the day before

and you go out with your friends
play, play
Where are you going home to
at the end of the day?

Everything else just flies by
When you're taking to the sky
You're free now, thrasher boy
You're free now, thrasher boy
You're free now, thrasher boy

No wipeouts
in your mind
tight body
arms reached out
you got your hat on
full of life
no wonder you're so
body tight

Boots, straps, to your feet
you feel it in your core
out to white mountains
just like the day before

you're a wild one, thrasher boy
Out to white mountains
Just like the day before
