This is one of the best Stamp Out Bullying songs I have ever heard. The kid vocals are great, especially whoever you chose for that strong spoken boy voice lead. Stop That is such a clear and memorable Command-Hook. I love it! Kids will remember it and take it out with them on the playground at recess. I really like the chorus (which becomes more intelligible as the song progresses). If hurting makes you feel good, compare that to kindness...a fantastic concept. It was a little awkward to pull off lyrically, but the more I listened to it, the more it seemed to "work". Instrumentation, GREAT.

Lyrics

"STOP THAT"
Music: Chris Arms, Annie Lynn
Lyrics: Annie Lynn
Title/Idea: Walt Wilczewski

(Child #1 speaking) Oh no, here comes that bully. What should I do?
(Child #2 speaking) "We need to stand up to her and tell her to stop it!"
(Child #1 speaking) Okay, let's do it!

VERSE 1:

STOP THAT! We see what you're doing

STOP THAT! This just can't go on

STOP THAT! Now's the time for things to change

We are gonna rearrange this place

So I am going to try and forgive

And I want you to know why...

CHORUS:

If putting me down makes you feel good

If hurting me makes you feel better

That feeling's nothing compared to kindness

And friendship, we all have so much to offer

(Child #1 speaking) What should I do? This kid just won't stop bullying me!

(Child #2 speaking) You've got to tell an adult. They can help. Come on - I'll go with you.

VERSE 2:

STOP THAT! We must stand united

You've got to understand

STOP THAT! Cause we're no good divided

Just take a wrong and right it - I know you can

Yes, I am going to try and forgive

And I want you to know why...

CHORUS:

If putting me down makes you feel good

If hurting me makes you feel better

That feeling's nothing compared to kindness

And friendship, we all have so much to offer

BRIDGE:

And if you're bullying others to try and fit in

Well you know you're better than that

LEAD

DOUBLE CHORUS:

If putting me down makes you feel good

If hurting me makes you feel better

That feeling's nothing compared to kindness

And friendship, we all have so much to offer

STOP THAT! STOP THAT STOP THAT! STOP THAT! .......... STOP THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
