Story Behind The Song
Hippodrome was originally composed for a friend, who requested some circus-themed music for their podcast. It wasn't used, but I was pleased with what I had written-- something funky and memorable, with interesting interplay between winds, brass, piano and percussion, that (for me, at least) recalled some of my favorite Danny Elfman scores.
