Story Behind The Song
This is the first song I wrote after I left my previous hard-rock band which I had fronted for nearly 2 years. I wanted to do something calm, yet fun and memorable. A good song with a good hook. No gimmicks. This was it.
Song Description
There's no particular subject matter for this song. It just displays how an individual feels about being misunderstood, or not loved. There is a hint of this song being about a girl in the bridge, but it's very subtle.

Lyrics
So here I am, taking in all this air
For the purpose of nothing, except to be here, here next to you
Another day went by, attempting to be perfect
For the purpose of nothing, except to be true, true in your eyes
Chorus
So what did I do wrong to deserve your stare?
It's burning through, through my own skin
And I can't stand this, no I can't stand this
So what did I do wrong to need so much repair?
I hear laughs from afar, my name spoken in tongue
Discussing our memories of events that have yet, yet to pass
Chorus
So come one, come all and try not to laugh
This is me losing sleep over someone who's stolen my heart
My heart is beating for someone who speaks not my name
When she says her prayers at night
