Story Behind The Song
I was thinking about life in a big city, and how many people live such different lives but have similar feelings, struggles, temptations, sins, etc. I think it is such a shame that many people are so quick to judge another person for something they've done, while hiding their own issues from the world. Which got me imagining - what if the city itself was conscious and aware of everything that went on within it? What if it knew everyone's triumphs and everyone's failures? I imagine if the city were to share all that "she" sees, she could "bring us all to our knees," and help us to realize we are all human, and we are all more similar than we think.
Song Description
A pop track with an indie feel to it, this song explores the question: if a cities and towns had the ability to see everything that went on within them, what could they tell us about ourselves? What could they reveal about the lives we live when no one is watching?

Lyrics
Verse 1
Highway driving, going no where, realizing that it's
Well it's all over now
Fancy cars and sketchy bars you'd never know at first but
You can float or can drown
Planes are flying, skylights shining, buildings so high that they,
Steal the sunbeams' space
And they're always towering, making shadows, catching eyes it makes this
Little church look out of place
Chorus
The city has eyes, she could bring us to our knees
The city has eyes, if we only knew the things she's seen
The things she's se-en, se-en. The things she's se-en, se-en.
Verse 3
Everyday, yes every moment there are people who are
They're just passing me by
Business women, old men gambling, all these individuals
Each with a name, with a lie
Fowl words and a poker game, an artist's secret search for fame
We drive the roads we know so well,
Live at night and sleep all day, travelling from place to place
Losing earring at hotels.
Chorus
The city has eyes, she could bring us to our knees.
Oh yeah, the city has eyes, if we only knew the things she's seen
Bridge
No one knows, yeah no one knows
But the one who sees it all.
No one knows, yeah no one knows
But the eyes that watch you fall. x2
Chorus
The city has eyes, she could bring us to our knees.
Oh yeah, the city has eyes, if we only knew the things she's seen
The things she's se-en, se-en. The things she's se-en, se-en. x2
