Verse 1:
Standing in the back with the guys in percussion looking down at the flutes. There's always been just something about the girl listening to Slickshoes. I never thought I'd see the day when she looked up at me and smiled back. I asked her out and with dismay I was turned down as a matter of fact.
Chorus 1:

Verse 2:
Walking in the hall all alone after band class she walked right up to me. She said she was in a tight fix and I asked what it could possibly be. She calmly settled down and then she started to tell me. The trumpet players in the back don't seem to notice me.
