Lyrics
He was a boy not more then 16
She was a girl the same
He asked her out one Friday evening
She sat on the porch ?till he came
She held his hand as they walked to the corner
Under the yellow street light
And on the way home that Friday evening
She stood on her toes so high
And he kissed her lips, ?Cuz he couldn?t resist
Friday night was theirs, Friday night was theirs
Something was in the air
?Cuz Friday night, Friday night was theirs
I don?t know how they made it through with
The babies, the mortgage and all
But they never missed one Friday evening
She knew from work he would call
And he made her laugh, as the years went past
Friday night was theirs, Friday night was theirs
Something was in the air
?Cuz Friday night, Friday night was theirs
Her granddaughter stops by one Friday evening
Out at the old folks home
It?s been almost seven years now
Since grandma?s been on her own
They sit on the porch and her granddaughter asks her
?Isn?t that dress brand new??
She gives her a wink and gently reminds her
?His favorite color was blue?
And they found her there, waiting in her chair
Friday night was theirs, Friday night was theirs
She knew he?d meet her there
?Cuz Friday night, Friday night was theirs
He asked her out one Friday evening
She sat on the porch ?till he came
