Story Behind The Song

A very personal story...I was haunted by a kiss that I shared a very long time ago, one that chained me emotionally and even spiritually to the man I shared it with...a kiss so potent that I felt in on my lips days after experiencing it. I had never been kissed like that and to this day I've never experienced another one like it. After so many years of waiting, of carrying it on my lips and heart, I finally realized it was time to let it go, to free myself of its power. I literally wiped my mouth, envisioning that kiss on my fingertips and I blew it back to the man I'd shared it with and said in a whisper, "I'm returning you to sender". I sat there and wondered, if that kiss had an awareness, what would IT say when it got back to him. "Here I am, back where I began" and it became this song.

Song Description

"If A Kiss Could Speak" is what I imagine a kiss might say if it was sent back to the person who first initiated it. A kiss that when given was life changing, one that lingered through the years, giving hope to the one who received it, but that hope was in vain.
