Wow, I am loving this. Great job

    - Numinous Owl

First of all... Truly great vocalist who demonstrated a wide variety of emotions and colors as well has had the tone, phrasing and attitude as well as drama to make this work big. Especially liked the part at 2:25 and how the vocal became soft at 2:45 setting it up for the next peak of dynamic intensity. Liked the intro a lot with the volume swell just before the vocal came in and the little feedback sound around the vocal. Also liked the instrumental section around 2:50 (happened elsewhere too) that had that slightly eerie feel that made this a success as an atmosphere piece.

    - Robert Adams
Lyrics

The Promise

I'll be back before they light your birthday candles
A kiss, I turned and climbed aboard
Now 2 hundred miles above the burning shambles
The gods of war are keeping score

(Chorus)
I don't wanna lose all mankind
Take it back, take it back, hit rewind
Didn't we always say that this could never happen here?
How could fear in one day end
All that's been built in a millennium
And break the promise made

Before false pride arose to take control
No more reason no more hope
Now I float alone beyond forever
Only silent dreams of home

(Chorus)
I don't wanna lose all mankind
Take it back, take it back, hit rewind
Didn't we always say that this could never happen here?
How could fear in one day end
All that's been built in a millennium
And break the promise made

(bridge)
My last prayer
Evil monster, crusher of life
You are not my god, I disown you, you do not exist

Now 2 hundred miles above the burning shambles
The gods of war are keeping score

(Chorus)
I don't wanna lose all mankind
Take it back, take it back, hit rewind
Didn't we always say that this could never happen here?
How could fear in one day end
All that's been built in a millennium
And break the promise made

A kiss I turned and climbed aboard
