Story Behind The Song
A fellow musician passed away at the age of 42. After his death we were compelled to write this song about the way he lived his life. He was a great fan of the "Outlaws"..Willie, Waylon, etc.; thus the hook, "that's an outlaw's way".

Lyrics
Live Hard Die Young
Judd/Brown/Brown
It's hard for me to realize that 20 some odd years has just gone by;
And the eyes that look back at me from the mirror seem more weary but more wise.
Oh but who'm I trying to kid, I wouldn't live my life in any other way
Live hard, die young, take your chances, that's an outlaw's way.
Oh the miles I've put behind me, I can't begin to count them all
And I feel I'm riding on the crest of a wave that's just about to fall
Yes the stakes are high, rewards are few, oh but that's the price you pay
Live hard, die young, take your chances, that's an outlaw's way.
Go ahead turn the lights out, and don't wait up for me
And there's no telling where I'm at tonight or how late I will be
That's just me...
No one has ever known me, even though a few have tried
I built a wall around my life where I am always safe inside
Yes the legend will live on even when I'm cold and lying in my grave
Live hard, die young, take your chances, that's an outlaw's way.
Live hard, die young, take your chances, that's an outlaw's way.
