Story Behind The Song
This is a love song that tells the story of a relationship, from when they were just kids playing outside to when they have to part ways once high school is over. Believe it or not, the lyrics and music were written separately; the lyrics were originally from a poem I wrote, and the music was a melody I had written after listening to John Lennon's "Plastic Ono Band" album. Then one day I put the two together, and they ended up fitting each other like a glove.

Lyrics
There's a crack in the pavement where
We played with our toys and ride our bikes.
There's paint chipping on the wall where we
Would draw our portraits with careful strokes.
As deterioration of life surrounds me,
It dilapidates my soul.
All these moments come to an end,
But they will blossom in my mind forever
As precious memories.
A speaker's blown in the stereo
Where two hearts and minds became one whole
And weeds are towering over the garden
Where we carved our names into an oak.
There's drops of water dripping from the ceiling
Where passion kindled by the fireplace.
As deterioration of life surrounds me,
It dilapidates my soul.
All these moments come to an end,
But they will blossom in my mind forever
As precious memories.
There's a lightbulb burned out in the hallway
Where fingers gently caressed your face.
There's a hinge busted in the doorway
Where your teardrops touched my skin.
As deterioration of life surrounds me,
It dilapidates my soul.
All these moments come to an end,
But they will blossom in my mind forever
As precious memories.
