We met in 1949, it wasn't long til you had my heart and I wanted you for mine. You took me for a walk and recited poetry. I knew right then that you were meant for me.
In 53 we were married. We moved to Rock Island where you started seminary. With just our clothes and Dads old car, we knew together our journey wold take us far.
Chours: You are the breath I take and the comfort I seek. Our love has grown so strong, our friendship so deep. We have climbed some high mountains, seen some glorious views. And I am so thankful God gave me you, Sweet you.
Together we have created our life story. Pages filled with great joys and glory, others with sad tears. We have been together now for fifty precious years. Our journey goes on. We're still singing our love song. Only a special love can last a whole life time.
