Song Description

There's nothing like a "bestie."

Story Behind the Song

The first lines of this melody appeared with the lyric "What would I do with my life if I didn't have you in my life" and the song just emerged from that little bit of inspiration. I know I say this a lot but the song truly wrote itself.

Lyrics

V1: What would I do with my life
If I didn't have you in my life
Nobody knows me like you do
Think of all the adventures we've had
The good times and bad
All we've seen each other through

Some say loneliness is just a state of mind
Something common to all humankind

Well, if it's true what they say
At the end of the day
My only defense is you

V2: There are times in your life
When you turn on the light
And see what you need to see
Before it's too late
Let me set something straight
And tell you what you mean to me

Through thick and thin - good and bad
You've always been the best friend I've had

I hope you can say at the end of the day
You feel the same about me

Bridge: When I felt weak - you kept me strong
When I fell deep - you came along
And picked me up - you helped me see
I could be anything I wanted to be

V3: Looking back on it now
I can see how
The bond between us grew
If you believe in destiny
Seems we were meant to be
Together, forever - it's true

No matter what happens next
Or how complicated life gets

We're here to stay
At the end of day
We equals me and you
