Song Description

Some attractions are undeniable....just give in....

Story Behind the Song

A songwriter whom I respect suggested I might offer some lyrics to a concept he had for a song that described the way he felt about someone. By the time I offered these lyrics, he had already composed his own song, which is 180 degrees from this one, so I grabbed a melody for these lyrics and took the song to my patient producer, Mr. Bentley, who envisioned this folky, acoustic version of a song I had imagined would be a rocking pop song. You never know how a song will develop and I am constantly learning to ride the wave of possibilities.....

V1: Love is a feeling - not a fact
You're living proof of that
I'm just not safe around you
I see you and suddenly
Something comes over me
I'm just not safe around you

V2: It's one of life's mysteries
What you do to me
I'm just not safe around you
I can't breathe - I can't speak
My heart pounds - my knees get weak
I'm just not safe around you

Bridge: You fascinate me like no other
And so it begins
My heart says one thing - my mind says another
Guess which one wins?

V3: Whatever you call this feeling I get
There's no getting over it
I'm just not safe around you
So keep casting your spell on me
And what will be will be
I'm just not safe around you
