Song Description

This guy has finally had it. He isn't heartbroken, just done. No real regrets other than lost time.

Story Behind the Song

I wrote this for a submission. I was aiming for a Dylan-like "Don't Think Twice, It's Alright" I know I'm not close but I gave it a shot.

Goodbye, goodbye

This old town has got me down so I'm leaving

I'll just get my things and go.

All your running 'round has left me bleeding

and you don't even seem to know.

When I try to talk about it, you say I am paranoid

But even now you're not denying

That you've been seeing other boys.

So, Goodbye, goodbye, I'll just say goodbye

There's no need for me to crash and burn.

Yes, Goodbye, goodbye, I'll just say goodbye

I will live with what I've learned.

I never thought I'd get caught believing

in something that was never really there.

But I turned around and found you stealing

every heart, every glance, every stare.

You may think I didn't notice

but I remembered every time.

And even though you may be beautiful

I'm not one to stand in line.

So, Goodbye, goodbye, I'll just say goodbye

Don't be expectiong my return.

Yes, Goodbye, goodbye, I'll just say goodbye

You can't cross bridges that you've burned.

It's 4 AM and I am not sleeping.

I've got too much on my mind.

With all your lying and your cheating

Well, you just wasted all my time.

When it came up in conversation

You would call me insane.

So I'm waking from this nightmare

and I'm leaving on the next outbound train.

So, Goodbye, goodbye, I'll just say goodbye

There's no need for me to crash and burn.

Yes, Goodbye, goodbye, I'll just say goodbye

I will live with what I've learned.

So, Goodbye, goodbye, I'll just say goodbye

Don't be expecting my return.

Yes, Goodbye, goodbye, I'll just say goodbye

You can't cross bridges that you've burned.
