I'm here in the sticks
Out on the deck
Discovered a big ol' skeeter just had dinner on the back of my neck
He's now in my beer
A floatin' souvenir, but I don't care
A small price to pay when you get away from the city and come out here...

Here in the sticks...
Where the tall red oaks grow
And the view outside your door
Is worth everything you own
Where the night life is wild
And the wild is everywhere
The bull frogs bring on a smile
As the screech owl curls your hair...

Yeah, you get a big ol', downright country feel good fix...
Here in the sticks

I'm here with the fish
Caught me a bunch
Then a walleye bit my finger, one little slip n' I was lunch
But I'm okay
A slight fingertip fillet... and I still say...
I'll gladly deal with being a meal if it means I get another day...

Here in the sticks...
Where the tall red oaks grow
And the view outside your door
Is worth everything you own
Where the night life is wild
And the wild is everywhere
The bull frogs bring on a smile
As the screech owl curls your hair...

Yeah, you get a big ol', downright country feel good fix...
Here in the sticks

So, if you've had enough of that high-stress nonsense there in town
Take some time off, bring some bug-off... n' we'll wind it down, down, down...

Here in the sticks...
Where the skyscrapers grow
And the view outside your door
Is worth everything you own
Where the night life is wild
And the wild is everywhere
The bull frogs bring on a smile
As the screech owl curls your hair...

Yeah, you get a big ol', downright country feel good fix...
