Song Description

Moving on from a bad slice of life, he was contemplating what life might be like in a different -- and hopeful -- location.

Story Behind the Song

I was freshly divorced and was moving to the Gulf coast from hundreds of miles away. I got the dog in the divorce; she got the cat. I was taking the dog with me. I had a dream about the wind and the rain and the coast a few days before I moved down there.

Lyrics

VERSE
I wanta go to a place where nobody knows me
I'm reminded of her so easily
I'm gonna take Annie; I know she'll wanta go, too
An old dog will always love you

FIRST CHORUS
Wind blowing through my window
Be my friend, (oh) be my friend
Carry me where I want to be
Carry me down to the sea

VERSE
Down by the sea it's all about the good times
Smooth tequila, salt and limes
She won't know how I got there
And she won't care from where

SECOND CHORUS
Rain falling in the night
Coming down, coming down
When you leave, carry me
Carry me down to the sea

SOLO

Repeat FIRST CHORUS

TAG
Carry me where I want to be
Carry me down to the sea
