Song Description

This is the true story of three different women who lost someone they loved. (One woman lost the love of her life right after they were engaged. The other women had relationships that were ending.) I wrote this tune to hopefully bring some encouragement during the difficult times women experience. Every person has unique power and strength inside; sometimes we just need to remember our inner treasure.

Story Behind the Song

This is the story of three women who lost someone they loved. The three women happened to share their stories to me on the same day. Feeling dismayed for my friends, I wrote this tune to hopefully bring some encouragement during their difficult times.

Girl, Everything's Gonna Be Alright C. Diane Westin

Found the love of your life, you knew it from the start,
Your dreams came true.
You made your plans forever, to always be together,
But the sky fell in.
Now your heart is grieving, you're suspended in air,
Every day's like a battle, and you no longer care.

Girl, Everything's gonna be alright,
Girl, Trust yourself, you have might.
When you smile, the sun comes out to play,
When you cry a star falls in a brilliant display.

You made a leap of faith, said the big "I do,"
Now it's all gone wrong,
Living in a nightmare, did the best you knew,
Now you want to run,
Should've seen it coming, regrets in your head
Gotta start all over, pick up the pieces instead.

You gave him all you had and then some more;
It ended anyway.
You're running dry on empty, burned right out;
You gave yourself away.
You were lost in the shuffle; nothing left inside.
Looking back on the wreckage, need a place to hide.

You are a woman, you're a child, you're a mother, you're a daughter,
you are a flower.

You are dancer, you're a teacher, you're a scholar, you're a leader,
you are the world.

You are a healer, you're a singer, you're a poet, you're a dreamer,
you are the earth,

You're a giver, you're an angel, you're a sister, you're a hero,
You are a star.
