Song Description

Regret over a love affair ending prematurely

Story Behind the Song

Having moved on to a more external writing style where I attempted to examine existential and political issues I had turned my back on the basic love song. Life has a way of surprising you. Suddenly I was in love again after a long time and unfortunately it didn't work out. Grappling again with those familiar raw emotions I decided to pour my emotions out as a flat-out basic love-done-me-wrong song.

Lyrics

She's Gone just yesterday
She's Gone threw it away
And I'm carrying the scar on me like my own mark of Cain
Drowning in Tennessee-whiskey and pain

She's Gone something's not right
She's Gone gave up the fight
Hold on to the memories and even the shame
They're lessons in history cause I've learned again

Hold on Hold on

She's Gone ain't got a reason
She's Gone change of a season
And she says she' been burned before but the protest rings hollow
Cause the sweet things she says today will be rust come tomorrow

Hold on Hold on

She's Gone just yesterday
She's Gone threw it away
And I'm carrying the scar on me like my own mark of Cain
Drowning in Tennessee Whiskey and pain

She's Gone She's Gone
