Song Description

Proposing Marriage

Lyrics

If You Say Yes

Let me tell you a story I heard about two young lovers
It was quite sometime ago I?m sure and
I can?t quite tell you the ending but I do know there still together and happy as ever
Well Anyway, as luck would have it they both belonged to someone else at the time they met
So they started out as just friends like so many relationships do
But they had an unspoken attraction to each other that was undeniable
And one night before they had ever even kissed
The young man all cozied up on the couch realized
This was someone he could spend the rest of his life with
So he leaned to the girl and he asked her the ultimate question? And he said to her

With these words that I say to you?Know That I?ll always love you?And I do

I?ll be your love I?ll be your life?I?ll be your wings so you can fly
I?ll be your strength to carry on?I?ll be your right when you go wrong
I?ll say all this for I won?t miss?I?m sure this love will past the test
And I promise you all this if you say yes

Well like many relationships they had obstacles to overcome
The young man was far older than the young women and well basically from two different worlds
So her family felt she may be better off without him
So difficult as it may have been she continued to see the young man and fell more and more in love as time passed
Until one day they took that walk down the isle and she said to him

Chorus

If you say yes I?ll guarantee?A life of happiness and all you?ll ever need

Well I?m not too sure where they are today but
I know they ended up having a family? they had some kids of there own and a shiny white house with blue shutters
Anyway I guess the moral of this story is that true love will always prevail
And if you ever doubt that you can think of this story that was passed down to me? that I now pass
down to you? And you can remember the words they spoke to each other a long long time ago? they said
