Story Behind The Song
I was driving around and I saw a transient man picking through garbage. He was dirty, disheveled, and talking to himself. He showed all the hallmark traits of a man who had severe psychological problems. However, even as I was pitying the man he started laughing at something funny that he had said to himself in his dementia that he found amusing. He did not seem to pity himself or his situation. He went about his business never the wiser that he had just inspired a song.
