Story Behind The Song

Many people go back and forth with the same relationships. It's comfortable to go back to old lovers, even when people know deep down that it's not good for them. I wrote this song about a certain boyfriend who was terrible sometimes, but could also be sweet when he wanted to be. I kept going back to him, even when I knew it would hurt again. I see many women and men who find themselves in the same positiion. I wanted to write a song that could let people know that they're not alone, and maybe they could find the courage to leave the person who's causing them constant pain.

Song Description

"It Wasn't Me" sings about the mixed-up and wavering feelings associated with a broken romantic relationship. The singer sometimes seems angry at the boyfriend, and other times feels like she misses him. She knows that the man is no good for her, but does not feel strong enough to let him go. In the chorus, she stays firm and says that the problem was him, and not her.
