Story Behind The Song
Mike saw the movie Tombstone and was inspired to make a sound piece with a quote from the movie. He played me the piece and I liked it, and wrote the rest of the song?s melody and basic structure. I also wrote the lyrics, but Mike was a strong literary editor. I had to watch the movie and pick one of it?s many story lines to write about. Kurt Russells relationship dilemma seemed like the thing that jumped out at me. Mike basically produced the song on his own while I was at work

Lyrics
Verse 1
If I laid down with you evil woman
Like a thread in your bed be woven
Or is the angle that I am faithful to
Really a demon that I can't see through
Chorus
And my suspicion is free at last
Grant me permission, the die is cast
And it calls for fire and heat brimstone
Behold the pale rider that?s wrecking my home
Bringing the news as I knee in this old church pew
Verse 2
Angel your wings they are lily white
But the direction of your flight
Is down to the horned one deep below
And up above is my love that you call evil
