View We'd Travel To See

Story Behind The Song

Travelling in Ireland and met the love of my life. We stayed together awhile, meeting unexpectantly in Galway, Dublin and Oxford. Once again we met, this time half way round the world, in Australia. From there we stayed and together we have had a family - we made the place and the people. The song was written within days of our meeting, and 30 plus years later it has come to pass.

Song Description

Travel is wondersome. People meet and share. Sometimes they stay together a while, in this case they may stay a lifetime (turns out they did). Travellers observe the landscape wherever they go. These lovers make a landscape and travel into the landscape they make.

I've seen views worth seeing,
Heard words that are true.
Travelled through country and city,
In a town I found you.

Through many years I wandered
With baggage generations old.
Now to this season I'm tethered
And it's you I would hold.

Come and fashion with me
A view we'd travel to see.
When we think we are done,
Into that land we will have gone.
