Story Behind The Song
Some time ago, just before I join the BJ community, I was at a musical crossroads - we all eventually get there right.
Was married about a year when my wife met this guy at her work and had to take his personal details. She asked "name?" he replied 'Chris Rea', 'occupation?', he replied musician. My wife then said 'oh my husband is a musician'. He said "tell him not to give up, I didn't make it till late in my career". When she told me the story, after considering divorce and wondering who is this woman I marry who doesn't know who Chris Rea is, that bit of advice has stayed with and kept me pushing through many a tough day in this business.
This is my way of saying, Thank you Mr Chris Rea.

Lyrics
Friend Go Lie
VERSE 1:
Woke this morning, to news, that you were gone.
Felt so surreal, how life just moves on.
No more today, will we hear or see you play live.
You've taken your leave. You've gone on the big drive.
VERSE 2:
Got to say how you changed this little life,
it's so much better for the tip you gave my wife.
You didn't know me, a few words is all it took.
Hang on in there, don't ever give it up.
CHORUS:
Friend go lie.
Was your time to go lie.
Friend go lie.
Gonna miss your vibe.
VERSE 3:
Just a note from someone you never knew,
Someone grateful and indebted to you.
Want to say, even though you won't hear these words.
Thank you, sir, I'm thankful, grateful, so completely.
CHORUS:
Friend go lie.
Was your time to go lie.
Friend go lie.
Gonna miss your vibe.
BRIDGE:
Next time we meet, life's gonna be so sweet.
We won't remember today, like a bad memory it will fade away.
CHORUS:
Friend go lie.
Was your time to go lie.
Friend go lie.
Gonna miss your vibe.
