Shorty B. was born and raised in southern Indiana and has been writing music since her early teens. One of her songs was included on the "Live From Bloomington" album project.

In September of 2005, she received the honor of being named a Finalist by the VH-1 Song of the Year (http://www.songoftheyear.com/) songwriting contest for the song "The Down Low."

Currently, Shorty is concentrating on her songwriting and recording career while actively pursuing a record or publishing deal.

Her influences are Eminem, Ludacris, Dr. Dre, Kanye West and Kid Rock. She produces and writes both lyrics and music for her songs.
