Tom Bocci

Music Supervisor, Producer, and Publisher

Throughout his thirty-five year career Tom Bocci has enjoyed working in all the major areas of the Music Business, beginning as a singer, songwriter and performer of acoustic music opening for Billy Joel, Hoyt Axton and Linda Ronstadt back in the day. He also made two appearances on The Tonight Show with guest host Joey Bishop from New York and Burbank. He then transitioned into Music Publishing by becoming Manager for the Walt Disney Music Company and Creative Director for PolyGram Publishing as well as Creative Consultant to the vast Sony labels catalog for Film, TV, and Advertising placements. Along the way he earned Gold and Platinum Records for his work with the Academy award-winning Sherman Brothers and Motown great Edwin Starr on Disney's "Mousercise" hit children's album.

This led to independent Music Supervision for many motion pictures through his own Tom Bocci Music Company. During a six year run as Music Supervisor for the films of Blake Edwards in association with eminent composer Henry Mancini, Tom saw his efforts rewarded with song nominations for a Grammy ("You Can't Resist It"), Lyle Lovett from Switch) and an Academy Award ("Life In A Looking Glass", by Henry Mancini & Leslie Bricusse performed by Tony Bennett from That's Life).

He then returned to the Walt Disney Studios Music Dept. as Production Director for Scores and Soundtracks where he was aligned with renowned composers Jerry Goldsmith, Thomas Newman, Basil Poledouris, Michael Kamen, and Alexander Courage. Subsequently as Vice-President of Warner Bros. Television, he was responsible annually for the creative direction and music production of twenty-two network series including ER, Friends, Le Femme Nikita, and The Drew Carey Show.

As artist, writer, and producer, Tom released an acclaimed world music CD entitled "Vanishing Voices" combining original music with nature sounds of animals, birds and habitats from Cornell University's Library. It was distributed through the Nature Company stores. He then proceeded to produce "Rockin' Patriots" for Rhino Records, an Americana compilation including tracks from Randy Newman, Richie Sambora, Richie Havens, Buddy & Julie Miller plus a new version of "This Land Is Your Land" including all the verses featuring Jose Feliciano, Ramblin' Jack Elliott, Dar Williams, Bill Miller, and Alvin Youngblood Hart; co-produced with slide-guitar wizard, Roy Rogers.

After serving as Music Supervisor on the CBS network drama, "The District", Tom returned to record production with notable projects that began with beloved comedian Jonathan Winters, followed by "The Last Wild Place Anthology, an acoustic singer-songwriter CD by Lacy J. Dalton which included the song "Sanctuary", co-written with celebrated songwriter Larry Bastian.

This led to the release of "Ted Greene Remembered", which Tom produced as a tribute honoring his longtime friend; the late, legendary guitarist, author, and teacher, Ted Greene. The album features memorable new performances by guitar greats, Tommy Emmanuel, Lawrence Juber, Lee Ritenour, Jay Graydon, George Winston, Stephen Bruton and others who knew and admired him.

Through the years Tom has been invited to participate in several published books due to his never-ending support of songs and songwriters. Among these are "Mouse Tracks, The Story Of Walt Disney Records" "Steve Goodman-Facing The Music", and "Songwriting And The Creative Process" edited by Steve Gillette and published by Sing Out!
