"I'll tell you anything you want to know, just ask. I have nothing to hide."
Sometimes, life just does not go the way you plan. Some people get depressed about that and throw in the towel. Then there are people like PERNELL DISNEY, who learn to turn lemons into lemonade, with creativity, honesty, and aplomb. A native Washington DC'er, DISNEY's earliest ambition was to play in the NHL. After being diagnosed with osteoporosis at age 15, he was ordered to give up hockey forever. In 1995 he struck up a friendship with Dog's Eye View member Tim Bradshaw. Who later became the keyboard player for David Gray and produced and played on DISNEY's debut "Severn Way". After rave reviews from CMJ, The Village Voice, and many others publications, PERNELL was picked from thousands of entries as a top 50 Qualifier in “The American Music Awards® Presents The Coca-Cola New Music Award” in 2003.

2003 Top 50 Qualifier in “The American Music Awards® Presents The Coca-Cola New Music Award”

Matthew Pollesel - SPLENDID.com - "Severn Way is exactly the kind of album that could make Disney a household name (If it weren't already). It's one of those rare musical feats -- a break-up album that's neither maudlin nor sentimental, just quietly (and at times heart-breakingly) beautiful.

Michael Allison - Music Dish - "I love the way the music seems to just roll along. Nothing is over-produced or over-commercialized. Everything is down to earth and pure. "

Holly Day - cosmik.com - "...these songs are way too hummable. I mean, these are songs that are hard to get out of your head, their just so damned catchy... there is a skill to making songs so unforgettable"

Bio

In late 2003 Pernell Disney experienced a rapid loss of vision. After many neurological exams and MRIs he was eventually diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. To add insult to injury, his insurance company rejected his claims saying that the disease was a preexisting condition. Now, despite being faced with thousands of dollars in uncovered medical bills, he still looks forward to 2004 as his break-out year. “Good things always tend to follow the really bad things that happen in my life. Let’s just hope it comes sooner rather than later.”
