The Old Shallow Crossing

A stream runs through the valley,
Behind a faded red barn,
I’ve crossed it many a morning,
As I learned the ways of the farm.

Then as the shadows grow longer,
I point my pony toward home,
On the porch I see someone waits for me,
And know that supper is on.

(Chorus)
Head for the old shallow crossing,
Then follow the trail to the pen.
Head for the old shallow crossing,
Soon I’ll be home again.

Most folks have a vestige,
A mark that says that I’m home.
Mine was always that crossing,
A sweet welcome after I’d roam.

Now from that life I’m a stranger,
And my hopes to return have all past.
Lord, I’d love to see, that old hoss and me,
Making that crossing at last.

(Chorus)
Head for the old shallow crossing,
Then follow the trail right on in.
Head for the old shallow crossing,
And soon I’ll be home again
(Solo & Modulate)

Just like the stream in the valley,
The path of life will turn.
Destinies Child merely visits,
And that’s a hard lesson to learn.
Gently as night fall approaches,
A wonderful journey begins,
I close my eyes and see, some one waits for me,
And that old shallow crossing again.
(Chorus) In my dreams, I’m going home again.

Finish the Job

It started in Boston with tea,
By a spirit copelled to be free.

They said, "down with the past, lets build it to last,
freedom is something you can't rob....
Finish the Job!"

In '36 it was the Alamo,
But Freedom revised at San Jacinto!

As the voices from the past said."we built it to last,
Freedom is something you can't rob!
Finish the job!"

In '41 they tried again at Pearl,
Inveincible, they sought to rule the world.
But those voices from the past said to build it to last,
Freedom is something they can't rob,
Go Finish the job!
(Chrous)
Old Glory waves proudly today,
it reminds us the price that was paid,
When you see her, your heart starts to throb,
For you know that they finished the job.

On 9-11 evil struck agin,
with a foul deed of terror to win.

But those voices from the past said, "We built it to last, Freedom is something they can't rob,
now finish the job!"
(Chrous)
Old Glory waves proudly today,
It reminds us the price that was paid,
When you see her, yu heart stats to throb,
For you know we will finish the job,
Yes you know we will finish the job!

Lets Roll...........Finish the job!

Out on the Llano Estacado

Out on the Llano Estacado, searching the breaks all alone.
Looking for new borns to tag up as the wind whispers its song.
The wind covers the hoof beats, and sings so loud in my ears.
Cowboy come here I need you, and we’ll be together for years.

Out on the Llano Estacado, just like Vaqueros of old;
The grassland calls to the cowboys, then slowly takes over their souls.
Out on the Llano Estacado, where freedom really takes hold;
The grassland calls to the cowboy, then slowly takes over his soul.

I remember the laughter, when at first her beauty was mine.
No need for riches or diamonds, our love was truly divine.
And each night she would come to me, whispering so low in my ear,
Cowboy come here I need you, and we’ll be together for years.

Out on the Llano Estacado, just like Vaqueros of old;
The grassland calls to the cowboys, then slowly takes over their souls.
Out on the Llano Estacado, where freedom really takes hold;
The grassland calls to the cowboy, then slowly takes over his soul.

But now our cabin stands empty, filled no more with her laughter,
Too long sequestered and lonely, a new life is what she went after.
But this country just never quits calling, and it speaks to me ever so clear,
Cowboy come here I need you, and we’ll be together for years.

Out on the Llano Estacado, just like Vaqueros of old;
The grassland calls to the cowboys, then slowly takes over their souls.
Out on the Llano Estacado, where freedom really takes hold;
The grassland calls to the cowboy, then slowly takes over his soul.

Now the sunset has started, and some how its special today.
Unnoticed the edge of the Arouro, crumbles and then fast gives away.
Together we fall toward the bottom, as we roll in the air I can hear.
Cowboy come here I need you, now we are together for years.

Out on the Llano Estacado, just like Vaqueros of old;
The grassland calls to the cowboys, then slowly takes over their souls.
Out on the Llano Estacado, where freedom really takes hold;
The grassland calls to the cowboy, then slowly takes over his soul.

Out on the Llano Estacado.
