One Side Later

THE BLUES HAD A BABY

The United States Congress declared 2003 as the Year of the Blues, celebrating the 100th anniversary of W.C. Handy's inspiration to bring this vital music to mainstream America. It is no coincidence that One Side Later formed in early spring of that same year.

One Side Later is an original band with one purpose: to bring their unapologetic breed of blues/rock to other all audiences.. With the showmanship of Buddy Guy, musical diversity of Led Zeppelin, and internal groove of ZZ Top, One Side Later produces a concert atmosphere that demands and receives attention (typically in the form of hoots and hollers!)

OSL's original tunes, not just their chops, set the band apart from their peers. In a given One Side Later song, a listener would be hard pressed to find cheesy cliches (lyrical or musical). Instead, expect to find innovative blues based guitar lines combining with rousing vocals paired with intelligent lyrics. These self proclaimed "fan pleasers" threaten not only to blow speakers, but also minds.

WORD ON THE STREET

One Side Later is not without their accomplishments. In May of 2006, OSL played to an audience of over 37,800 as part of the Indy 500 Festival. The band has also performed all over Indiana and Ohio. Some establishments include CT Peppers, The Rock Lobster, That Place in Greenwood, Zoobies, Ball State University, Indiana State University, Indianapolis Arts Garden, New Castle Arts Park (IU East), Joe's Grill 4, and Barley Island to name a few.

In August of 2005, the band took top honors at Mooresville's Applefest: Battle of the Bands. The event draws over 1,200 people to the southwestern corner of Indianapolis annually.

In November of 2005,, One Side Later performed a limited seating showcase for Atlantic records, Warner records, Revlis records, and Madison House records. With OSL originals One of a Kind and Fake It receiving attention from national record labels, it's no wonder that fans leave every show humming infectious One Side Later tunes.

ROCKING THE FREE WORLD

In July of 2005, the band released: Live at Barley Island. The record was captured at Barley Island Bar and Grill (Noblesville) and mixed by Jerry Hall of MMC Studios. Live at Barley Island, t-shirts, and additional recordings by Mike Perry of Lightning Struck Studios, are available at live shows and the bands offical website (www.onesidelater.com).

One Side Later is no stranger to the airwaves of Indiana. The band has appeared on Kokomo's local TV (in conjunction with Kokonut's Bar and Grill), as well as BSU Late Night. OSL has also rocked the radio waves of 91.3 WCRD as part of the popular college radio show: The Hybrid Hour, and continues to receive regular airtime.

A TIME OF TECHNOLOGY

Along with the band's offical website (www.onesidelater.com), One Side Later is also an active participant in the local organizations of Indy Music Net, Indy Music Scene, Indy Bands, and Indy Speedway's Bands. Along with these local affiliates, OSL holds national registered accounts with MySpace, PureVolume, JamBase, and Clear Channel's New Music Network. These resources, alongside with the infamous OSL mailing list, creates a web presence that rivals any other local artist.
