In late 2001, four young men set out to create a collection of new musical experiences and formed the rock band NIMBUS. With a few changes in line up, by early 2002, NIMBUS was chosen to perform for "Rock the Oaks II" at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, a premier rock music event which aired numerous times on TOTV. This event sparked college performances and radio play from such Universities as UC Santa Cruz, San Diego State University, and Long Beach State. Also print publications have been actively featuring the growth of this creative entity inspired by artistic bands such as Tool, Pink Floyd and Radiohead. Moods of the music range from dark ambience to raw intensity to heartfelt, melodic acoustic performances. As recent as May of 2003, Hits magazine coined NIMBUS as one of the top 5 newest hot bands to keep watch over.
