After obtaining his B.A in Music Improvisation at Melbourne University, Mic spent his early 20's gigging in the jazz and R&B scene. Split evenly between the bass and piano, he also began arranging and producing for local independent artists. "I still had my rock and roll dream to fulfill, but I was waylaid by an incredible Reggae/ Funk band, Man Friday. Suddenly I was in a whole new world and I loved it." Man Friday had been a legendary band in Australia and he understandably jumped at the chance to tour internationally with them. Putting his original project on hold he spent the next 2 ½ years traveling and playing in Sir Lanka, England and Europe. "As good as it might sound, I was getting frustrated hanging out on tropical beaches and playing reggae every night. I knew the time had come to take the plunge and promote my own music." Working from home in his 24-bit studio Mic is concentrating on song writing and gigging with the Mic Jackson Band.
