Bio
My name is Matt Stevens; I was born in England, where I lived until I was 10. I was always a musical kid, so at the age of 8 my parents took me to music classes to learn the organ. Instead of learning to read the music, I would just listen to the teacher play the song and play it back. I was told I had an ear for music. When I was 10 my family moved to Germany. Moving to a new country and learning a new language was hard, so I spent time playing the keyboard and composing pop music. I also wanted to learn a new instrument, so I started playing the drums.
My family moved to the U.S. when I was 21. I spent time composing piano pieces while getting my college degree. I now work as a Sr. Automotive Designer, but music is still very much in my life. About 7 years ago I helped form a band; we gig at numerous local bars on the weekends. The band members range from 28 to 50, so we each bring songs from our own generation, which helped me learn and appreciate different styles of music.
