Biography

Marshall Seese and his band have created the perfect fusion of funky rock and contemporary, rhythmic pop. Armed with this addictive sound, the Atlanta artist has captured audiences around the Southeast with his unique approach on the guitar and his powerful, real-life lyrics. The blonde, energy-invoking front man began mastering the guitar at a young age. However, thanks to being bored with his grandpa’s old bass ukulele, he started playing his right-handed instrument like a left-hander, consequently, perfecting it upside-down and backwards. When put together, you get a defining blend of rock, funk, jazz, reggae and flamenco all packaged up into an easy to swallow pop-rock pill. A pill that can be taken while watching any variety of acts such as The Connells, Freddy Jones Band, David Mead and Five Eight with whom Marshall has shared the stage.

To help direct the sound on his six-track EP, Marshall turned to Grammy-award-winning producer Don McCollister, who has worked with acts like Sister Hazel, Shawn Mullins and Third Day. Released in August of 2005, this EP has all the makings to carry Marshall Seese onto the radio waves, thanks to support from XM Radio and WMTS in Nashville, and into the ears of awaiting fans. Fans that have pushed Marshall well over the 10,000 spin mark on MySpace.com where new fans are latching onto his sound every day. It’s no wonder Marshall was voted Best Local Singer/Songwriter by the regional publication Creative Loafing where he was listed alongside other recipients such as the platinum-selling acts Outkast and Sugarland.

Marshall’s drummer, David MacLean, brings another level of experience to the band. His work with Sister Hazel, Gavin Degraw, Pat McGee, Tonic and Avril Lavigne only adds to the polished sound Marshall offers. After recently collaborating with Mac Carter of Drivin’ n’ Cryin’ fame, Marshall has gained a frequent lead guitarist that further completes the sonic experience created by the band. The band’s experience and Marshall’s creative use of strong hooks, melodies and lyrics have created an act that that is more of an experience than a show. In the presence of Marshall Seese you ignore the incessant chatter of others and the waitress you were trying to get a hold of minutes earlier for the Red Bull and vodka. Instead, you are engulfed and captivated by the layers of music and voice they create.

The music business has been longing for an artist with the passion, drive, integrity and character that can fill stadiums and climb charts. Marshall and his new funky, pop-rock style is exactly the image and sound that can deliver those results and be the next pair of footprints on the path walked by Dave Matthews, Jeff Buckley, and John Mayer.
