M77 Bio

Youthful enthusiasm is at the heart of this Flagstaff, AZ based power-trio. Front man Ben Cornelius (vocals/guitar) has a unique way of reaching all listeners with his lyrics. "I try to write songs that make people feel excited and empowered. I want to create music that takes people away from whatever gets them down and lets them enjoy a few moments of uninhibited fun." - Ben Cornelius. The boys of M77 grew up in the heat of the 90s grunge movement, and draw heavily on that energy. "You didnt see Nirvana and Sound Garden just stand on stage and dribble a song out, they got out there and exploded. Music needs more of that" - Ryan Seumptewa (bass/vocals). M77 brings that energy to the stage and then some. It is not uncommon for M77 to leave the stage dizzy from over exertion with a few blown speakers in their wake.

While maintaining that definitive energy, M77s greatest asset is their diversity. There is equal chance to see their fists pumping to Norma Jean as is their heads bobbing to A Tribe Called Quest. This diversity is reflected in the music they create. M77 will make your hips move with the soulful lyrics and thick bass line of "Theres The Door" one minute, and have you jumping up and down with "Pleasure Cruise" the next. The bands greatest talent is the ability to create a common thread in their diverse sound, and make all of their songs distinctly M77.

There is a common vision shared in the M77 project by all three members. "The vision is what motivates us; we are willing to make sacrifices." - Pete Cornelius (drums). "There is no wallowing around in hardships, no elaborating on and just swimming around in self pity. Youll find none of that here. Its a release. Its like a good rich cup of coffee fresh out of bed." - Ben Cornelius. M77 is looking to refresh a nation. Ben, Pete, and Ryan are convinced that their refreshing sound, unending determination, and energetic stage presence will not fail. "Beyond the hardships and beyond the heartbreak that people might feel, is a basic human need to have fun. We embrace that." - Ryan Seumptewa.
