My name is Kester Lyddon. I am a songwriter in many different styles although my training started picking out heavy basslines on a casio keyboard through a Marshall Bass stack age 15.
My interest in 70's funk was born from a love of ska, soul, Trojan and Tamla motown in the early eighties, while my older sister blasted me with Zeppelin Hendrix and Floyd. As a keyboard player, the late eighties naturally took me down the sequencing and sampling route and in 1992 I made a record "Dub Charge-Conflict Of Drums". That year I built a studio with Jake Wherry which later bore jazz hip hop outfit The Herbalizer. Session work here and there took me to main stage Reading 1994 on the Hammond with Senseless Things. A month later a classical concert alongside members of the London Philharmonic in memory of my late father, Allan John Charles Lyddon, my first inspiration.Other inspirations are Daisaku Ikeda, Nasrat Fateh Ali Khan, Keith Jarrett
