When Kathleen Kadlec moved to Traverse City, MI in 1991, she returned to her musical roots (Interlochen 1964-1969). Active in Santa Barbara and Los Angeles during the 1970’s & 80’s, she studied songwriting with Jack Segal and co-founded the Santa Barbara Songwriter’s Association, working with John Brahaney to pattern it after his famous Los Angeles Songwriter’s Showcase. Kathleen owned and operated “Creative Associates”, a TV and radio jingle company. She was a featured performer at clubs in Santa Barbara and Los Angeles. Kathleen had opportunities to participate in writing for movie sound tracks and accomplished performers, having her own work published in China in 1982. Her career then took a back seat, while she raised her two boys. Kathleen renewed her interest in songwriting and joined Adair Correl’s songwriter’s group, contributing to the Northern Michigan Songwriters CD. A resident of Naples, FL since 2004, Kathleen enjoys writing every style from classical to country.
