The Music of Les Blachut

In an article published by the Jazz Forum Magazine in August of 1999 Les Blachut's music is described in the following way: If it involves music, Les Blachut has probably done it. Piano, organ, electronic keyboards, trumpet, drums, percussion, MiDi expert, soloist, accompanist, teacher, church musical director, music librarian, producer, composer, arranger, lyricists, competition judge, jazz combo, big-band, classical symphony orchestra, pop group, solo act, metal rock, ethnic folk group, Broadway pit ensemble, microtonal vibratons, outer-space music, etc. etc. (end quote) Although Les Blachut came to Boston from Poland in 1989 only to study at Berklee College of Music, he found his way to South Florida where he continues to perfom, teach and produce music in all of the above described varietes. Since his departure from Berklee Les Blachut has been recording and touring with musical acts of international fame (such as The Ink Spots, Basia, World Percussion Orchestra, LFO Big Band - just to name a few) and is currently teaching at North Broward Prep School and St. Jude School. Les Blachut is the leader of his own Ethnic-Jazz group The Jampoles and a member of The Gypsy Heart, Jazz Survivors and Steel Vibes. Please check out Les's website for audio-video material and befriend him on Facebook.
