bio

New York native, Ephie Lowinger is a writer, artist, and spoken-word phenomenon. This
jack-of-all-trades possesses a talent and maturity far beyond his years.

Lowinger spent three years as a stand-up comedian playing for crowds all around NYC before deciding he needed another outlet. He turned to music to help him express the poetically somber and somberly comical.

His influences range from Billy Joel to the Beatles to REM, Bob Dylan, Green Day, Paul Simon and The Muppets (yes The Muppets).

As a poet, Lowinger rivals the best in the world and incorporates an evolved lyrical sense in both his poetry and song.

Lowinger’s debut album, “I’ve Learned” is a wonderful microcosm of his deeply spiritual sound and insightful lyrics. The album has truly taken his music to a level rivaled only by the very best. Collaborating with talented producer and musician Larry Gates, the collection is a musical journey that anyone can relate to. “I’ve Learned” features a hard-hitter opening, “Not Gonna Fall For You,” which is complemented by the sweet subtle irony of “In Bed.” Although Lowinger’s sultry, evocative strains cover a wide range of human emotion, he remains true to his art on every track.

‘I’ve Learned’ also includes guest performances by some of New York’s finest musical talent including drummers Wes Little (Joe Perry, Jamie Fox) and Mo Roberts (Mark Pender Band) Gershovsky (musical director Manhattan Transfer), bassist Jack Mc Loryd (Ray Charles, Dave Mason) and multi award-winning producer/ composer/ engineer, Larry Gates.
With his raw talent and gift for the spoken word, this exceptionally versatile singer/songwriter is sure to make headlines.
