Ed Erenberg; the name doesn't exactly roll off the tongue. Nonetheless, after years of going by Ed Marshall, the frontman for the indie power-pop combo Atomsmasher has reverted to his real name and released his first solo effort, the cryptically titled Here's To The Lions. The songs follow in the rock footsteps of the still-active Atomsmasher and rise to a new level of sophistication and maturity. Ed's pop influences and darkly humorous lyrics are still present, but now tempered with weightier material as well. The album alternates acoustic and electric driven arrangements, featuring Ed's unique layered vocal harmonies and melodic lead guitar. Fans of pop rock of any genre will find something to love here.
Here's To The Lions features new rock classics like "Waiting for Somebody" and "Am, " as well as a remake of the Atomsmasher favorite, "Die For Art." Another highlight is the acoustic duet "Driving Me" with guest vocals provided by Ed's wife Pam.
