Bluegrass, American Roots And Appalachian Music

ID: FT032047    Posted March 25, 2020
Looking for: Music from the heartland with roots in Appalachian and Bluegrass music that a casual viewer would associate with the Appalachians. Acoustic instruments, including various guitars, zithers, dobro, banjo, etc... are helpful.

Some artists that typify the genre are Bill Munroe, Flatt and Scruggs, Pee Wee Lambert, Alison Krause and Union Station. The songs should be narratives on the everyday life of the people whence the music came. Lyric themes might include, but not limited to, living a hardscrabble existence, lost love, unwanted changes to a region, way of life, protest, coal mining and railroading.
