Michigan singer-songwriter Dan Vaillancourt has been called a natural storyteller, a virtuostic guitarist, and even the Jimi Hendrix of folk and has been performing his 'funktified folk' at concerts around the country for most of the 21st century, to date he has performed in hundreds of venues in twenty-nine states and counting. He has received radio airplay on hundreds of stations in nearly every state.

Vaillancourt has penned many hundreds of songs and recently become involved with the international songwriting challenge community. He completed FAWM (February Album Writing Month) in 2008 and 2009 and was also one of only 41 participants to complete the 50/90 songwriting challenge 2008, writing over 50 songs in 90 days.

For his newest album, Lovely Distractions, Vaillancourt garnered the help of Grammy-nominated producer Ric Hordinski (Monk, Ellery, David Wilcox, Phil Keaggy). They worked together to bring the musical vision of the album to life.
