You need to bring out the rhythm more, its buried by the lead. The rhythm makes me dance man. NEVER bury it. lkb

Hi Eugene
A terrific set of tracks. You mention you use Pro Tools above. Do you mind me asking which sample libraries you use to create this great music and are you PC or MAC based?
best regards
Tony

Thank you Tony! I mainly use older EastWest libs, but want to get their newer instruments, they've done some amazing work on those. PC but now with PT 11 out need some research to see if need to change anything.

Tony, how did it go with PumpAudio? Have they listened to your submissions yet? What are you up to? David

Tony James posted over 30 days ago

Hi David, good to hear from you. Pump Audio still haven't reviewed the three albums they received from me ages ago... so I've been focussing on one particular "music library" & have about 500 pieces with them now. I'm just starting to go through a re-mastering of my library. I'm still undecided on Cubase vs Pro Tools vs Logic so just holding my nerve to make sure I get the decision spot on for me.
How about you, what's the latest on publishers / placements etc?
Tony

David Banks posted over 30 days ago

Wow! Pump realy do take their time! I've still got tracks waiting review from 12 months ago! I have finally started to receive royalties (started 9 months back) and I can see that Editors Choice Music is the one doing it for me right now! (they are exclusive though and like you I'm signing nonecxlusive right now), they have about 65 tracks. Heard one of my tracks played in a show called Storage Hunters the other week, that felt good! Although I could hardly hear it (lol). A library called Defacto keep asking for tracks but they haven't got a website? Also an Australian company called Jamhouse Creative have taken some tracks for their new library. Sounds like they have already worked with a few big guys? You can't always trust what they say but their website looks promising. I've given quite a few tracks to Epitome but I've just found out that they don't get many film/trailer or TV adverts and I'm guessing that's where the money is? A friend of mine (engineer) was telling me how good Cubase 7 is. I bought C4 then upgraded to 5 but 6 had nothing worth looking at. Not sure if my computer can take much more (2 terabite of hard disk space-but will only take 8gb of memory). So you have 500 tracks with one library! You must be including the edits etc.. Still a lot! I was writing 1 a week but after placing 150 (registered with BMI) i have slowed down before I go nuts! My head began to go all fuzzy! I had a good run though! 3 years writing 1 a week so I've sort of reached a mile stone. I remember reading about this couple that was earning a good living out of 300 tracks? Well It's Saturday evening so I'm just putting the finishing touches to a Hip Hop/Orchestral piece that has taken several weeks so far! I need to go down the pub for a beer and clear my head! Can you believe I hate pubs with music! Or any noise! Nice to catch up with you. Cheers! David

Tony James posted over 30 days ago

Yes David, Pump Audio really do take their time....same with Music Dealers, I guess it's a long game. That's great about Storage Hunters. Interesting your comment about people making a good living off 300 tracks. It doesn't entirely surprise me if they are of high quality because at the end of the day quality is better than quantity. Take AudioSparx, for example, where 5 to 10% of the artists probably count for a large share of the sales and many of them don't have large number of tracks. By the way if you're not with them I bet your music would potentially do well (if you don't mind spending ages writing metadata...).
cheers Tony

Hi Susan
I hope you are OK.
Thanks for listening ... I think the ones you listened to were all composed in the last week or so. Hope there was something in there you liked / found relaxing.
best regards
Tony
