Piano player since 1993. Composer since 1998.

Styles I can play and compose in include many styles of jazz: swing, bop, latin, fusion. I have written romantic-style classical music both for piano and strings. I have put together arrangements of compositions for choir and small vocal groups.

I play other styles of music (with no composition experience) including pop/rock, electronic, and other periods of classical music. I have limited experience on other instruments: guitar, bass, clarinet.

I am interested in gaining experience writing for a variety of outlets. Let me know if you are interested in my talents.

Piano Player

Chris Irwin began playing piano at the age of 12. He took lessons off and on through high school, learning classical piano, and some jazz.

At age 17, he entered college and began serious study in jazz and composition, in addition to his usual studies.

During college, he started playing professionally as a pianist (solo and duo work) in upscale restaurants in the Charlotte, NC area. He has played many other gigs with larger ensembles for special events.
