I have to say some very polished and high quality tracks, I am a bit sceptical though I think AI is a big factor this time around. Some I can tell and some not sure about. I hope the genuine artists shine through as there are plenty here!

Your midi, your lyrics, their voices/instruments. It's like buying a new library with an option to prompt.

I'm afraid A.I. will be soaked into everything music/video within a few short years.

I'm not encouraging anyone to give up live performances, but for guys like me? The only thing done differently is... well. Nothing.

I write my chords, I write my rhythms, I write my leads. Then I write my lyrics and sequence a performance.

People cry A.I., but in cases like this?

They should be crying about physical modeling.

A.I. just built the models...

The prompting is available in this particular DAW, but penny pinchers or purists could use it as a new library, and only a new library.

Besides... You'll need song writing skills no matter what, mostly because A.I. lyrics suck. If you're going to make the machine do your bidding, people still need to like the message, the actual music, and most A.I. is just vanilla trash to be honest.

You'll need to learn how to beat the machine "correctly" to get away from that. Otherwise?

In the "Lovemaker" category, there is a song that absolutely devastated me emotionally. I don't even know the full title -- only the haunting hook line, "how to live with her regrets."

This song literally brought me to my knees with tears streaming down my face. The songwriting, production, emotional honesty, and sheer empathic realism are extraordinary.

Whoever created this... wow. Truly spectacular work.

So what's up with ChatGPT invading the website with promises of PR improvements and library optimization lately? I feel like some guy in India has figured out they can sell inflated services to wide-eyed artists, in the day of A.I. none the less, and they're using Broadjam to do it...

No one knows any of these people. They all sound the same, some ChatGPT optimised pitching routine, and frankly, I'm concerned because they're coming in infinite waves.

You wanna sell services, that's fine. Make your pitch, hope for the best, and be done with it.

One pitch after another, a new name every week, that same ole ChatGPT smell.

What can be done here Broadjam? I feel like all I have to do is browse my comments and it's page after page of the same Kats selling their services.

They're not even listening... Just selling. Fishing. Waiting for the first sucker to hand over some cash, or worst, banking details.

Feels quite underhanded. If I wanted these services, I would reach out to established individuals and firms.

I just keep thinking about that movie The Beekeeper. A part of me tightens up a bit whenever I encounter a potential con. Hands just slowly back away from the keyboard... (sigh.) And then I remember I'm not a special forces guy.

So I just brick wall that stuff. If I feel like there's a breach I'll tighten email security. Change passwords. (grumbling profanities going through the tedious motions.)

All you can do is stay tight.

Otherwise it's everywhere... you will encounter it. It will find you.

Oh oH! There is something wrong with the way songs are reviewed in the 6 Pack. They take 3 random songs against each other. But the songs are in specific categories. So if it is jazz piece and might be a best in that category, a person who likes country will probably give it a good. -not best. The 3 songs should all be in the same category. Otherwise a piece that would be great, is not likely to be given the proper rating.

Not a lot of action in the blog I see.

Well... I'm sure looking forward to reviews. Broadjam has always been an outstanding community of "all the sorts." I've had the privilege of even collaborating with a handful... and I gotta say. My productions have usually sounded better with the input of others. Won a 6 pack that way by collaborating with an outstanding song writer/singer and an awesome guitarist. Both people I've met here.

Then there's the dozens of other artists I've worked with since and/or before then. All thanks to Broadjam.

When this thing kicks off you'll have a great opportunity to meet and even collaborate with other artists who will only enhance your craft.

I hope this community chooses to do so.

Anyhow, patiently waiting on reviews so I can comment on them in the blog here, hopefully I'll meet a few new artists this year.

Who's gonna do a track on Minnesota?

I'm a registered Republican and think it's our God given right to protest while embracing the second amendment.... and I also happen to have a huge soft spot for ICU nurses.

What I saw was a legally armed man stripped of his weapon, who was then executed for having a weapon (that he in no way used), and finally... in the aftermath, there was a gaslighting campaign from the incompetent... telling me my eyes are lying.

I'm a registered Republican and this doesn't settle well with me

There are more important things in this life than blind loyalty...things like integrity.

Someone should mend a bridge between the left and the right here. I'll help if you've got the right message... So will my award winning artist.

There is a winner in each of the 6 categories. And the 1st, 2nd and 3rd winner in each category wins something. At least that is how it was back in 2006. I won a 3rd place in one contest and a 2nd place in another. I also one 1st place in 2012. All total, I wound up winning 2 keyboards, a pair of Genlec speakers, $300, all the Sample Tank libraries and other stuff. I guess they would add up all the first place winners to get an overall grand winner. Let's hope the prizes this year are as good!!

I'd like to know if this is a writing contest - ie. demo production is treated equal to radio-friendly production - or will the songs be judged both on writing and production?

They need to fill up each challenge with enough material to create a good balance for voting. Once this happens, they'll open up reviews.

If they don't wait, many artists will end up competing against the same songs over and over. Broadjam knows what's up though, so they'll wait until those challenges have a healthy amount of songs to compete against each other.

I'd give it a few months.

My only question is "why aren't they advertising this more?" I would have expected an email or in site message from Roy by now.

Not to say A.I. doesn't have a place here... people will vote down stuff for being too commercially vanilla sometimes. Using A.I. will not guarantee success. It just means you know how to prompt. To be clear... Nothing can replace the soul a true artist brings to their work.

I just wanted to know if artists needed to declare AI usage. And equally... if it was policed.

There are producers who hire out "the entire band" to play their melodies and sing their songs. I don't see a difference, save the price tag.

Can you clarify how the overall winner is determined across the six challenges?

In the past 6-Pack competitions, there was a point system or cumulative scoring across categories. I don't see that outlined for this contest yet, so I just want to understand how "Six Challenges. One Winner." is being evaluated.

The leaderboard rankings for each challenge will be determined the same as in the past - from "Good, Better, Best" peer ratings and total number of songs entered.

After the Leaderboard Competition is complete, the Top 40 songwriters will advance to the Finals, with elimination rounds to decide the Finals Winner.
