Willie Barrio

In the summer of 1979, Willie Barrio was born to be William Castro. He was raised on the streets of Brooklyn NY, where he took his first steps. After a couple of years, his Parents decided to move to Puerto Rico. That was hard for him as a young man because of the language barrier. His father was a well-known man in the streets of Brooklyn, NY as well as in Isabella, Puerto Rico. He was known as Chino or Veteran.
Life in Puerto Rico wasn’t as easy as expected for his mother because she couldn’t find a job. She made the hard decision of packing her things and moving back to New Jersey, where she knew her son and her would have a better opportunity. Unfortunately, his father decided to stay behind. He said he would die in Puerto Rico. As time passed by, Willie Barrio realized he resented his father because he was not a part of his life. He began to lash out. He did not want to go to school and always did the things he wanted. As time took over, he started growing up and decided he would not be like his father and started chasing things he wanted. Music was always a big part of him. He knew that he eventually wanted to work in the music industry. He started out by helping promote the teen clubs he would go to.
In 2004, Willie Castro also known as Willie Barrio ran into Rhythm, an old childhood friend from Brooklyn, NY, who was working on music with Chosen Few’s own
DJ Hostile. With hopes of further pursuing their dreams, Willie barrio and Rhythm one day decided and moved to Florida. Once there, Willie barrio realized that life there wasn’t going to be the picture perfect life he dreamed of. He only stood for a couple of months and decided to come back to Jersey. Unfortunately, not long after he came back to Jersey, he received a phone call that his father unexpectedly passed away. The news hit him hard. He took the first flight out to PR to bury his father. On the way home from the airport his girlfriend told him he was going to be a father. The news definitely helped his pain. God had taken one life but given him another one in its place. Willie Barrio was not working nor did he know what to do. He woke up one day and started to grind out. He knew he had a child to raise and needed to work hard. He quickly started making moves. He knew it was time to make his dreams a reality.
He has currently started a movement with unsigned artists, which has quickly become a street success. He is currently associated with Triniti Entertainment. Together, they have started managing a group named Juancky and Yodelis. It has definitely been a long road but success is slowly but surely building up.
Besides the movement, Willie Barrio is currently working on other projects. His goal is to ultimately bring all unsigned artists together to create a bigger movement, by giving them the exposure they need.
