“SEE” the Debut Album by Tramtra

Progressive Chill Rocks!

SEE is a new music. Though its roots derive from progressive rock, the essence of the sound is undeniably chill. So the term “Progressive Chill” has been born and with it an innovative genre of sound
SEE is the creation from the collaborative energies of Toivo Pilt (the keyboard player with Sebastian Hardie Australia’s most internationally renowned symphonic progrock band), Mark Hudson (guitar/bass player and one of the founding members of the highly successful Australian rock band Australian Crawl and later with Max Sharam) and Robert Forbes (the inspirational force behind the project and also on the keyboards, keyboard drums, theremin, percussion and synthesisers).
The history of the formation of Tramtracks goes back to 2003, when Toivo Pilt, was supporting the Sydney and Melbourne concerts for progressive rock legends YES, a tour that was instigated by long-time friend Robert Forbes. The creative high of those magical days inspired the band to continue on that energy in some way, so it was decided to meet regularly to jam and record music, for simply the fun and the improvisational nature of it.
Robert Forbes set up a recording studio, and at first the music was purely keyboard and synthesiser based, with a theremin being added later. After some weeks, old friend Mark Hudson appeared on the scene with his small arsenal of guitars. Later on, Athol Spraggs contributed on many sessions assisting with engineering and bass and drum programmes.
Interestingly all of the recordings are entirely improvisational, with a ‘one take’ ethos behind the recording process, making it a truly unique body of work.
